beSTORM (r) is a black-box fuzz testing platform designed to uncover security weaknesses in software, network services, and devices before they can be exploited. It systematically generates malformed, unexpected, and edge-case inputs to stress parsers, protocols, and state machines, then monitors targets for crashes, hangs, memory errors, and other anomalous behavior that signals a vulnerability.

Key capabilities include:

  • Protocol- and format-agnostic testing, with support for both common and custom protocols and file types
  • No source code requirement, enabling assessment of third-party components and binaries
  • Flexible test modeling and mutation strategies to explore deep, hard-to-reach code paths
  • Automation options for continuous testing and integration with existing QA/SecOps workflows
  • Clear reporting with reproducible test cases to speed triage and remediation

beSTORM (r) helps security and QA teams harden applications, network services, embedded/IoT systems, and industrial devices by finding faults early in development and validating fixes during regression testing. The result is stronger software resilience, reduced production risk, and a more efficient path to release.

beSTORM (r) is developed by Beyond Security. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 5.1, 5.4, 6.1, 6.6 and 13.1. The name of the program executable file is beSTORM_Client.exe.
